Perseverance at his finest

Written By Jason Bourne

A Boston born singer, songwriter Rebecca Lynne AKA R Lyn is a composer of music that reflects her life experiences and creates relate-ability in her core audience.  Well respected for her presentation as well as the honesty in her lyrics, R Lyn is undeniably one of the new faces of the genre making waves up and down the east coast.

Raised by her mom, with no knowledge of her biological father, R Lyn is no stranger to struggle. Turning to music for healing, she was drawn to others with a story that they shared through their music. Some of those legends include Aaliyah, Mariah Carey, Etta James, Amy Winehouse, Kehlani, and Jazmine Sullivan.

"I started singing after I started writing my pain away. Throughout high school, I participated in several talent shows and sung the national anthem at high schools and colleges across my home state- Massachusetts."

One of the few in her family to attend college, R Lyn packed her bags at 18 and headed to Temple University.  This is where R Lyn found herself both personally and creatively.  Just before her senior year, R Lyn would give birth to a son, Royal who instantly provided an instant sense of purpose for her voice and musical aspirations.  Singing to him every night, R Lyn understood that music was not only a passion but a profession.  By 2016 R Lyn balanced motherhood, and full time IT work within the pharmaceutical industry with long nights writing and recording.

She would be selected by AMP 96.5 Radio as one of the best artists locally in Philly and shortly thereafter opened up for Tory Lanez, Ginuwine, Mya, and Ashanti.  With her buzz and support growth, R Lyn is putting the finishing touches on her "She's Not Afraid" debut which will display her multi-genre talent and pure vocal ability.  Check out the lead single, "Come My Way" which is available now digitally.
