Six Officers from Atlanta are charged with assault after pulling innocent students out of car

Six officers from Atlanta are being charged after dragging college students, Messiah Young and Taniyah Pilgrim, two young college students out of their car and arresting them during curfew hours this past weekend. The two officers, Mark Gardner and Ivory Streeter pulled the two innocent students from the car and also tased them. The video of the act went viral and led to them being fired and arrested. Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the Fulton County District Attorney charged both officers with aggravated assault. Officer Ivory Streeter is also receiving an additional charge for pointing his gun at one of the students. Besides, other officers like Lonnie Hood, Willie Sauls, Armond Jones, and Ronald Claud are also being charged. Officer Hood was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of simple battery, Officer Sauls charged with aggravated assault and criminal damage to property, Officer Jones charged with aggravated assault and pointing or aiming a gun, and Officer Claud with criminal damage to property. District Attorney Paul Howard stated that the two innocent college students are “extremely innocent” so innocent that there was “point of being naive.” All charges against Young after the arrest were dropped.
