Born Phillip George Williams on October 23rd, 1990 in New York City to German-Jamaican mother and a Syrian-Indian-Jamaican father in the Murray Hill section of Manhattan. Soon the family would relocate to Jamaica, Queens where the creative, Scorpio P would be groomed. Taking to poetry early, his passion would transition to short stories before landing in the arms of Hip Hop at age 16. Balancing the genre with his saxophone studies, he would craft his brand of music. By college (York College), he would meet fellow artists Ursa Major and Bizzy Bee both of whom would serve as mentors. Scorpio would later become one of the first artists under Bizzy Bee Productions. A highlight of that period was his collaboration with The Fourth Coming on his debut mixtape, High Energy Vol. 1.
Scorpio P would take an hiatus shortly after and pursue his interests in theatre focusing on the launch of his father's Minefield Theatre Group (2014) where he currently holds the position of Artistic Director. In 2017 he would return to Hip Hop with his single Black Magic featuring Ursa Major which can be found on his acclaimed EPStreetFood. Other stand out cuts were Mother's Son and One For The Ages. Scorpio would find himself nominated for multiple Voiceless Music Awards and requested on stages from Amityville Music Hall to The West End Lounge, The Afrikan Poetry Theater, The Shillelagh Tavern, Aloha NYC, Bushwick Public House, Blackthorn 51, The Gateway, The Silent Barn, Starr Bar, and H-Loft.
This past February Scorpio P released a follow up project Director's Notes. A debut studio album, the body of work is a tribute to his late directing professor, Timothy J. Amrhein, who passed away in 2016.
