An event aimed at empowering and allowance of a platform for networking amongst talented models, actors, authors and entrepreneurs alike The Fashion Art Class took place this past weekend at the Glam Dolls Salon and Spa in Waldorf, Maryland. Powered by Dopenerd and The Ameenha Lee project, the event was sponsored by Miss Jessie's, Drink Tickle Water, Laniboo Bath, Intex, KikPik and of course the hosting venue the Glam Doll Salon and Spa. Another installment in the long running event specialty of Industry Kids Events ambassadors such as Ameenha Lee, Kennedy Hall, Lyric and Melody Hurd as well as Donshea Hopkins (from the hit TV shows 'Power' and 'Orange Is the New Black') were on hand to greet attendees and share stories about their accomplishment and work ethic. The perks of the afternoon were complimentary manicures, pedicures, facials, and also makeup and temporary tattoos dished out to the guests of honor as well as their peer group. The Glam Doll Salon and Spa staff provided services as well as entertained the kids with a runway walk, dancing, cotton candy, and treats. Panel hosts Jelani Jones (Entrepreneur, Lani Boo Bath) and Lexi P. (Author, Curlanista) moderated the Fashion Art Classpanel which closed out the festivities. Check out some highlights below:
