#THEJASONBOURNEEXPERIENCE

Tylan Paige

Branding himself as R&B's newest Heartthrob, DMV area native Tylan Paige is well equipped to be the next face of what many considered to be a forgotten genre, R&B. Described as soulful, with a hint of trap his music is reflective of the modern listeners' desires, upbeat and poignant all the while attractive to mature ears. Already stamped by hometown legend Wale, Tylan is quickly earning the faith of other heavyweights through sheer talent and work ethic. A dual-threat athlete and outstanding student, this young man is a product of a great home and grooming within the halls of the church.

"I want my songs to reach the depth of people’s souls. I want to sing and write music that relates to everyone's experience and transport them to a place of love," says Tylan.

At the rambunctious age of 16, Tylan displays great patience and understanding. A leader of his peers, his ambitions are to elevate within his craft while staying true to himself and promoting creativity, unity, and progress. Looking to follow in the footsteps of Michael Jackson, Usher, Boys 2 Men, Ne-yo, Tylan is quick to credit those legends in helping him shape his talent and respect for music.

Jason Bourne:

R&B has become a highly criticized genre how do you feel about being tapped as a new face for the genre well as someone bridging the gap for old and new R&B?

Tylan Paige:

Man, I don't even know what to say. That's a blessing. I'm truly humbled with me just starting taking my craft and music serious a year ago and then already being named as the face of R&B for the new generation and bringing the old gap. That's just a blessing. I'm truly humbled.

Jason Bourne:

Who are some influential entertainers that you have studied over the years?

Tylan Paige:

Well, I've got to start with the goat, Michael Jackson.

Jason Bourne Okay, Okay

Tylan Paige:

Just the way that he carried himself on stage, in the studio, always giving 110%. I always try to think about what would Mike do in those situations? Then, number two would have to be without a doubt my favorite artist of all time, Usher. You know I just love the way he approaches anything that he's doing. He's been my favorite artist before I was born, so I always stand out and look at him.

Jason Bourne:

Okay.

Tylan Paige:

Then I look at Chris Brown because he's a little bit more to my generation.

Jason Bourne:

I Kinda New you was swaying toward Chris Brown okay cool.

Tylan Paige:

Yes, sir. Then I obviously, can't leave out the ladies because the ladies are doing their thing in the R&B right now. H.E.R., Ella Mai, just to name a few -

Jason Bourne:

So Who will you pick as your first choice? #LadiesChoiceList lol

Tylan Paige:

H.E.R But I love Ledisi, too. I love Ledisi.

Jason Bourne:

 Okay H.E.R

Tylan Paige:

Yep! H.E.R

Jason Bourne:

How do you juggle your academics necessity and the necessities of mastering your craft as a musician?

Tylan Paige:

Now at first like I said I just starting singing a year ago, it was very difficult, those first couple months trying to maintain that four-point oh, but still trying to give 110% in the studio. I just had to realize that I had to put the childish things aside and re-prioritize everything that I've got going on. I had to stop playing the video games, if I had to get off the phone with my friends or stop hanging out with them at a certain time so I could get my schoolwork done and I could go to the studio do what I got to do on that end, then I just had to do it.

Jason Bourne:

As a native of the DMV, how does it feel to get a co-sign from a legend such as Wale?

Tylan:

Shout out Mr. Joseph, my lawyer for setting everything up with Wale. He's just a great guy. I finally got the opportunity to meet him. A couple days ago at the Urban One Awards for the Blessing, real nice guy. And just to say I got a song with him, he's one of my favorite rappers right now, so to say I got a song with him, that's just a blessing. It's a blessing.

Jason Bourne:

So What's the next "Single" you guys are dropping?

Tylan Paige:

I’m not even going to lie, right now we’re still trying to decide what’s the next single that’s going to come out in January. Right now I have over 40 songs in the vault with not only RL and Flat but my also with my first production team MilkNSizz so we’re just trying to look at all of our options.
